So, let me understand this state called Michigan in which I live.
The Republican-lead legislature passes two bills which are aimed at destroying unions in a traditionally union-strong state.
The media outcry over this was also used as a smokescreen to hide a further injustice wherein bills were passed without public hearings or debate that give medical personnel the authority to withhold or deny medical treatment (specifically abortion or birth control) on the grounds that it might conflict with the caregiver’s personal beliefs.
And now, within the same 24 hours, they have found a way to circumvent the people’s decision of November 6th to vote out a democracy-crippling “emergency manager” law by simply replacing that law with a near carbon copy under a different name, thus reversing the decision and will of the people.
All of this done during a lame duck period before a Democrat-leaning legislature comes in next session.
“Welcome to Michigan. Leave you rights and your voice at the border, please.”
