I am livid and pissed off beyond words right now.
A very old and mostly abandoned, but beautiful, cemetery in Bruce Township, Michigan, that I have visited many, many times has been completely destroyed by reckless, disrespectful, asinine, heartless fucktards.
The criminals toppled over headstones and threw the famous “Sphere” down the hill. In all, about 40 graves were damaged.
I have spoken about this issue time and again in my paranormal column and elsewhere and it seems that some stupid punk kids (or immature adults) just didn’t get the damn hint.
This is this exact reason why I advocate against groups going into cemeteries at night. If anyone out there who reads this operates their little “hobby group” in such a way, YOU are why this field is laughed at and you fucking disgust me. You are NOT ghost hunters. You are NOT paranormal investigators. You are children and disrespectful pieces of shit. You’re not there to “investigate” or contribute to science, you’re there to be assholes and you’re breaking the law.
The cemetery, which has graves going back to the beginning of the 1800s, is at capacity and no longer accepts burials. Township officials found the damage when lawn services went to cut the grass. The actual vandalism probably took place August 15 or 16.
If anyone who lives in the area knows anything that can help the Michigan State Police and Bruce Township officials catch and prosecute those responsible I IMPLORE you to call and report it. If you’ve heard whispers- or bragging- in other groups or among others in the ghost hunting community please provide the intel so that justice can be served. In such a small rural area such as northern Macomb County I am certain that SOMEBODY knows SOMETHING.
