An Election Day Dilemma

I’m a little miffed.
The mayor of Sterling Heights ran for reelection uncontested, which means that even with a single vote, he wins. I don’t care for him and believe it’s time for change.
At the polling station I was informed that “no valid write-in candidates exist” and that anything I wrote would not be accepted. I, therefore, left that section of the ballot completely unmarked.
This is a day in which the voice of the people is heard, but sometimes the loudest voice is that of silence.
