I often scare and amuse myself with the thoughts I wake up with.
Today I woke up thinking: Michiganders refer to their northern region as “up north”; New Yorkers call theirs “up state”. I wonder what residents of other states call their northern areas and, secondly, why the hell we do this at all. O.o
