The Banned Books Awareness and Reading for Knowledge Facebook page is just shy of 500 followers. As great as that is, the news is bittersweet.
Within a few weeks of starting this project back in 2011 I was contacted by World.edu (then World Education Network) and offered to write the column for them.
It has been a great and rewarding road. My column has been referenced by schools and news organizations around the globe and used by students in research for their assignments. I thank everyone for sharing the knowledge.
Yesterday I received a message from the editor at World.edu that their organization is shifting its focus.
As a result, several columnists have been informed that they have until February 3 to move their content. Sadly, I began that process today.
I have done my best to preserve articles, comments, and feedback from world edu to the column’s new home as part of the project’s own website.
All links to the articles have been painstakingly redirected from the old site to the new, as well as their corresponding photos on the BBARK Facebook page.
If anyone notices broken or missing links let me know.
That said, it is a new year filled with new possibilities; therefore, we look to the future.
I look forward to continuing the work of promoting literacy and freedom around the world.
Thank You
