Okay. Here is my issue with “Karen” stories:
We all know a Karen– and some may even BE the Karen, but which is worse: Being Karen or being the person in her or his life who stands silently by and enables the behavior?
Being Karen (or Ken) is a symptom of a bigger societal issue. Gone are the days when inappropriate and immature behavior was called out for its bullshit in real time. Now, when someone is rude or disrespectful, you are the one in the wrong for pointing it out. This just encourages the negative behavior because they have learned, through the apathy of others, that they can do as they please without consequences.
Instead of bitching about Karen (or Ken), shut them the fuck up from the start.
The world will be a better– and quieter– place.
