Songs I Have Written

The following is a small collection of songs I wrote some years ago… yes they are quite cheesy.

“Walk Through Fire”

In my life I’ve made a mistake or two,
and I think of all the lonely nights
I could have spent with you.
From out of the dark and into the light,
I know this much is true-
I’d Walk Through Fire for you.

Through Fire
I’d Walk Through Fire for you.
When the odds are against me,
when it seems all hope is lost,
no matter what the cost,
I’d Walk Through Fire for you.
I’d give my life for you
and Walk Through Fire.

Never in my life have I wanted something more
Than to hold you in my arms.
I will always
stand by you,
keeping you from danger.
And if I had to
I’d Walk Through Fire.

“Angel Wings”

*note: I wrote the while asleep one night. woke up in the morning and it was on my desk and no memory of writing it.

Before we met I was empty and cold
never took a chance
traveled the lonely road
but at first sight I was in a trance
your Angel Wings brought me back

Now I know what heaven is like
for you are the Goddess from above
the Goddess of Love
a Muse, flying on Angel Wings

Take me away on your Angel Wings
take me away to whatever tomorrow brings
we’ll sail the stars on your Angel Wings
as we fly away the other angels sing

When you appeared that night
I saw the Lightening strike
the Thunder rolled
and your Angel Wings filled my Soul

Flying high on your Angel Wings
flying high to whatever tomorrow brings
never looking back, only ahead
we spoke with eyes and no words were said

Angel Wings sail the winds of love
you take me to the sky and the stars above
through the Galaxy and across the Universe
forever and ever, for better or worse
my pretty little Angel Wings

“Couples”

What happens when that special love song
comes from the radio?
What is it about love that is so grand
when in songs from every band?

I may never know what it is like
to love and be loved in kind,
but those around me know its magic.
They know what it is like to be couples.

Couples, couples everywhere.
Couples with love to share.
Two people in love
Lost in the Stars above.

I often wonder why I am destined
to be so alone and ask the questions.
What great wrong have I done
that I may never feel the warmth of love?

Couples, couples in the park
Couples making love in the dark.
These people in love
fit together like a glove.

Couples, couples I have seen
Couples fat and lean
Couples tall and short
Couples who court
Couples, couples, every pair
Couples should be aware
Couples should have pity
on poor, lonely Souls like me.

“Life Never Waits”

Life.
Life Never Waits.
War surrounds and confuses me
as we build missiles under the sea.
Our children are starving
so the old can live forever.
As Earth and man are severed.
And through it all, Life Never Waits.

Life Never Waits (never waits)
in a world full of hate.
How can there be peace
if the bullets never cease?
Life Never Waits.
It will not wait for man.

All the heroes lose their pride
and all their friends and family have died.
The machine guns yell
screaming, “WAR IS HELL!”

The Sun rises in the East
to greet the Beast.
And the light uncovers the dead,
their bodies full of lead.
The war has taken its toll
(few still carry a Soul).

The dust settles and the animals again run free.

Of the Humans that lived, few are seen.
Nature takes back the land.

Death disappears and Life gives a hand.
The Trees grow and the Rivers again flow.
It is the dawning of a new age.
The few lingering Humans crawl into the dark.
All beings are free, no longer in a cage.
Life begins again on planet Earth
as green returns in a majestic rebirth.

A Human soldier sees a deer-
his hands fashion a spear-
The spear becomes sword
(he thanks his god).
Man is hunter once more,
but the Earth is still sore.
Death smiles in its gait,
but Life Never Waits.

“Promises of You”

They said not to worry
They said one fine day you’d land.
Love is not something to hurry;
Love is walking together, barefoot in the sand.
All my life I have loved you
All my life holding on to dreams
Holding on like a raft in a stream.
Holding on to promises of you.

When it seemed that all hope was lost;
When it seemed that my ship had sunk;
You landed on my shore in the dark of night.
Your smile as bright and high as the flag upon its mast.

All my friends said you were a fantasy,
a dream of my own desires;
They said you were not real.
Still I held on to that promise of you.

Now you are here with the lantern of love
glowing bright.
Now you are here and I finally see
the light.

They said not to worry.
They said not to wait.
They said you were not real.

All I know is that you are the one;
the one I have waited for.
You are the proof, the breath of my Soul.
All these years it was true, all those promises of you.
